MYCO - THE HOME OF
THE LIVING

This web design aims to create an experience for viewers that makes them feel more connected with nature. Setting the scene for some education on Fungi.  Communicating from fungi’s point of view, the aim is to get people to like them, consider them more and treat this sustainable alternative material with respect.

The concept of making the site feel connected to nature is emphasised by the use of the sound of a forest when the homepage loads. Research shows the climate crisis intimidates and scares people, so making the user feel calm and fully immersed in the experience, encourages them to pay attention and keep an open mind to this amazing material.

BRANDING ASSETS.

‘Myco’ means ‘relating to fungi’. It is punchy, short, memorable and definitively appropriate. The look of the branding is inspired by high-end furniture brands, incorporating a minimal and Scandinavian feel. The core values include connection, growth, regeneration and responsibility. Eco-branding has been applied throughout, to find out more about this visit: https://ecobranding-design.com/

HOME-GROWN TYPE.

Growing typography from mycelium gave insight into the way fungi behave and the structure of letters. Handling it up close and watching it grow showed how the products this brand is selling would be made and how they can act as an alternative material, helping to tackle the climate crisis.
